I need to know my family and I are going at the end of June. We are thinking about staying in Sea Shells of Sanibel. But I need to know if anyone has been there and what resort would you recommend?

I noticed no one has responded to your question yet. I've been to Sanibel a few times, however, not at a resort. We know someone with a condo right on the beach. It's a quiet place.
We try to purchase our groceries and whatever else we might need while in Ft. Myers, prior to crossing the causeway. That way we only have to pay the toll once (theoretically).
It's been a few years since I have been there, but there used to be a MuckyDuck at the end of Captiva Island. It is a great place to watch the sun set.
Enjoy and don't forget the sunscreen.

We just went over Thanksgiving but we also did not stay in a Condo. My brother in law and wife own a restaurant there as well as one right off the island. I will try to find out what I can about the place you mentioned and get back to you in the next few days. Its so beautiful there, your going to love it!!

We went two years ago and stayed at the SunDial Resort. It was very nice, but a little too "boring" for us. This was after a 4 day stay at Disney and we thought it would be nice to go there and do "nothing" but lay on the beach. That got old after one day. I guess we just like a little more sightseeing or an activity. We also had Diana who was 4 at the time. It's also extremely expensive to eat anywhere. We went to a hot dog stand and still spent over $25 just on 3 hot dogs, 2 fries and 2 drinks. And they didn't even have seating, we had to drive down the street to a park bench!

Sanibel was also hit by the hurricanes last year, so be sure your place didn't suffer any damage or if they will be doing an reconstruction work while you're there. We were in Cancun once after a hurricane and there's nothing worse than listening to jack hammers instead of the ocean waves!
